Healthy Habits – Tea

I was once told that your habits will determine your destiny. Considering your health is your most important asset it only makes sense that you create healthy habits.

For a few years now I have made the habit of drinking green tea every day. I love coffee however I needed something else to drink rather than drink 3 to 4 coffee’s a day, so that is why I initially started to drink green tea.

That was until I discovered rooibos tea, or it put it more correctly I was introduced it from my South African mates. It has been almost a year now since I started to drink Rooibos and I absolutely love it. I mix it with some honey just to sweeten it up a little and sometimes a squirt of lemon or lime juice. I have found the benefits even better than drinking green tea.

So why Rooibos Tea?

Rooibos tea is grown only in a small area in the Cedarburg region of the Western Cape in South Africa it contains zero caffeine and has very high levels of antioxidants and we all know how good antioxidants are for us. (They help fight off disease)

Rooibos tea is becoming a lot more popular in the western society and you can bye it from your local grocery store or health food shop.

I find it helps me sleep and provides me more energy than coffee even though it doesn’t contain caffeine. I simply feel great after drinking it.

In South Africa rooibos is used in traditional medicine to help alleviating infantile colic, allergies, asthma and dermatological problems, just to name a few.

I strongly recommend you try it and make it a healthy habit of your own.

How To Lose Weight Properly

Losing weight is a topic that a large percentage of our population are interested in. There are a great number of diets out there that claim to be the one to work, but how many of them truly work as claimed? Not all do.

What is the reason for the failure of so many of these diet plans? They are not always healthy, long term plans, but instead are often unsustainable calorie restriction plans. If you finally would like to learn how to lose weight fast and maintain that weight loss, you need something different.

To achieve weight loss, there are two basic ways to do it. Reduce your calorie intake and/or maximize the rate at which you burn calories.

Most weight loss plans only address calorie reduction. If you really want to drop pounds and keep the pounds gone, you have to do something different. You can’t simply starve yourself forever. The solution is to increase your metabolism, so you burn more calories. By using additional calories, you will burn the fat you want to lose.

There are a number of ways to do this. Physical activity is one option. You should exercise regularly any ways, just for health reasons, but by working out in the correct manner, you can increase the effectiveness of your exercise. A straight forward way to do this is to split your work outs up. Instead of a single long workout, workout for shorter periods, multiple times a day. You don’t need to work out twenty times a day for an hour at a time. Remember, we are looking for sustainable. Three twenty minute walks a day could be your personal goal.

Another way to increase your metabolism is through a change in your eating habits. By eating smaller meals more often throughout the day, you will help to increase your metabolism. In addition to eating smaller meals more frequently, eating the right foods will help increase your metabolism. For example, cutting out red meat and replacing it with chicken will help your body run more efficiently.

The real problem is that such people do not follow the appropriate program in right way. For a perfect plan for health and diet it is not important that what program you are following. The main aspect is to design a well planned strategy. To accomplish you ambitious goal you are required to strictly follow the well designed plan under professinal guidance.

The key requirement of your diet, health and fitness program is discipline. You just can not expect to succeed without proper direction and determination. This philosophy is applicable everywhere whether you follow your program at home or at a fitness centre. Therefore, if you follow inconsistant and unfocused approach this will lead to nowhere. You will end up in confusion that what you are doing and what will you get.

There will also be another disadvantage that you start over expecting the results. The people who start a new health and fitness program fall under this category. It has been found that the people who set over expectations and when they found that their achievement is not up to the mark, they get disappointed and frustrated. If you are planning to start your home fitness program at home then my suggession is that there is no need to buy any exercise equipment. We feel bored by using the same exercise equipment again and again. After using it for some time we try to avoid it and find that we again start gaining weight and accomulating fat.

My first suggession is don’t try to find excuses to eat your each and every favorite dish. The intake of food is an important factor in bringing the desired results. The exercise equipment should not be placed in the end corner of your home where nobody likes to go. However, a home health and fitness program is more advantageous than joining a gym but an effective planning and determination are the key requirements to achieve desired results.

My suggession is, you should go for a long-term plan. So, your home fitness plan should not be short-term but it should be a long-term planning and you should strive to achieve your health and fitness goal.

You must take into account the amount of food intake in your plan.

You are also required to plan for your rest period. You should also make a chart for your daily or weekly workout plans. Maintain a progress report, that can help you in determining your achievements vis-a-vis your plan. You are required to set your specific and realistic goals. When you know what you want, you can plan your strategy that is required to achieve the desired health and fitness goal.
