Let me ask you a question, have you ever been to a seminar or brought a personal development course or  book where it has said if you do this and that you will get this result and you have gone home done what you were told and didn’t get the result.

I know I have!

The question ‘why do some people succeed, while others don’t?’ has been the centre of almost every personal development course out there. While many people try to complicate the answer, success really is just a 3 step move. Find out what they are by watching this short video now.

the-secret-to-life-in-one-sentence-or-less

I don’t know if you did this but when I was a young child around 7 or 8 I used to go to friends birthday parties, and there was a game we used to always play called Pass The Parcel. How it works is that a gift is wrapped in dozens of layers of wrapping paper and you all sit in a circle with music playing and when the music stops whoever is holding the parcel gets to tear a layer of wrapping paper off and this goes on and on until the lucky child tears off the last layer of wrapping paper to claim their prize or gift.

It got me thinking because it reminds me of life, and consciousness. I have studied personal development and self help material for years now, it feels like my whole life in fact. As much as I didn’t like it at the time my parents were in a network marketing company since I was about 10 and as a result I had to listen to motivational tapes in the car whenever we drove any where and when I was going up we lived 30 minutes away from the closest town and a hour and a half away from the big city.

At the time as much as I used to complain as I wanted to listen to my music I am now very grateful as I now realise to some extent what a positive impact it has had on my life.

However I have a confession to make, after spending thousands of dollars and countless hours on personal development and self help material my life was still not working and it has only been recently that I have seen some real changes occur.

I don’t claim to have the answers as I feel like I am only starting my journey however I want to share some of my thoughts and insights.

If you have been following my blog I am sure you know that I mediate almost every day and I love it. It opens up your awareness so you can see things like patterns you run and beliefs that might be limiting that you would normally not recognize consciously.

Something I have noticed recently is that I used to focus on being a better person by saying affirmations, writing out an ideal day of my dreams and reading it every day, and when I feel a feeling I would associate as being negative I would do whatever I could to change it into something I would associate as positive.  I had the intention if I train my mind long enough it will begin to pay off for me.

Now I have to say this approach did work to some degree and I have gotten some good results this way, however what I have discover recently and so far it seems to get me better results is rather than focus on being a better person recognize I have all the power I need I just need to release and open up the energy block and dissolve the limiting beliefs I have.

It is like the Pass the Parcel game I was describing earlier, as you peel away the layers you come to a new understanding and new insight and as you keeping unwrapping the layers you get to the prize.

I am only at the start of this amazing journey however the progress I have made is remarkable. One of the exercises I have been practising is becoming more aware of my feelings without judgement and recognizing the power within them and ultimately within me.

Here is one exercise I have been practising it only takes 5 minutes and you can follow along.

First close your eyes and scan your body – Whatever you are feeling right now, whether good or bad or if you have a label for it or not don’t judge it just feel it.

Where is the feeling located? What colour is it? How dense is it? Good.

Now feel the power in the feeling, feel the vibration of the feeling. Good.

Now feel appreciation for the feeling.

And now feel appreciation for YOU feeling the feeling. Good.

I know this might sound a bit weird however it gets you in touch with your true power and the power of the universe. Everything is energy so feel the energy. This is where creation takes place, if you notice a limiting belief you have for example do this exercise, if you are worried about something do this exercise.

The more you do this simple exercise the more aware you will become and in some case this can be enough to lift and strip away certain limiting beliefs. Well this is my rants for today I hope it helps you on your journey.

As always I love to hear your thoughts, ideas and feedback so make sure to leave a comment and talk back to me.

Blessing

Sam

Perceptions are everything and they will determine what you get out of life.

Here is something to think about…

There is a poodle in the wilderness, poodles are not used to the wilderness and are not that well equipped to survive against all the other vicious wild animals there. The poodle knows this is and as he is strolling around, soon realises that he is getting tracked by a leopard. Now the poodle needs to work out what to do about this leopard.

The poodle starts to move quickly and begins to kind of get away from the leopard, however shortly after the leopard finds the poodles tracks again and returns.

The poodle has to think quick and pull a big move if he doesn’t want to get eaten by the leopard so he runs up to a half eaten carcass of bones and sits in front of it with his back to the leopard…”mmm mmm mmm that was a tasty leopard, I need to find me another one of these” the poodle says.

Just before the leopard attacks he pulls up and stops and turns back – The leopard doesn’t know what the poodle is as he has never seen one before and says “Phewl….it almost got me…That was a close one”

All this time there was a monkey watching the whole charade and the monkey tracks down the leopard and says “Hey, I have some very valuable information for you but in exchange I want some protection out here in the jungle” The leopard says “ok…what’s this information?”

The monkey tells the leopard the whole story about the poodle tricking him. The leopard gets really mad and upset, throws the monkey on his back, licks his lips and says “We are going to settle this!”

Just when the poodle thought he was all in the clear he sees what the monkey has done. So the poodle goes up to another pile or bones and waits until the monkey and leopard get close enough “Where is the darn monkey! …I told him to get me a leopard an hour ago!”

So what’s the point? Was the leopard able to eat the poodle? Absolutely, But the leopard was too busy listening to the words of the poodle and allowing the words to shape what he thought was possible.

In our lives we too often listen to these lies and about what is possible. Change where you sit and you will see a different world of possibilities. Reality is just a perception…I hope this gives you something to think about.

You have unlimited potential!

Sam

What is the quickest way to success?

It doesn’t matter what you want to achieve whether it be financial success, lose weight, have a perfect relationship or have optimum health there is one sure method that will not only ensure you will succeed but it can shave off years of trial and error and provide you a proven guaranteed path to what you want.

The easiest and quickest way to achieve anything is to find someone who has already achieved and had success in the exact same area you want to succeed and do what they do.  In NLP they call this modelling.

Success leaves clues – for example if you want to lose a certain amount of weight, tone your body and have vitality and energy. What you want to do is find someone who was overweight, unhealthy, etc and find out and copy what they did to lose weight, get toned and become healthy and do what they did.

I have used this method many times in my own life with amazing results, one of the reasons it works so well is because you can go off the wisdom of the person who has already made all the mistakes so you can make a whole range of new mistakes to fast track your results, this can even take you further than who you are modelling.

Here are some tips to help you use modelling to fast track your results.

  • The first thing you need to do is find a suitable model, they should be a model of excellence at their skill or in their field. Ask yourself: “Who specifically has already gotten the end outcome that you also seek?” Find that person and make contact.
  • If you cannot meet your model in person which is the best option if possible, then go to the library and read their biography, go their websites, go to youtube.com and find interviews they have done.
  • Take note of the words they use and how they use their body, their physiology.
  • Ask them about their beliefs and what they value. If you model their actions without understanding WHY they do it, you only have half of the clue.
  • Discover what motivates them, ask them what made them successful, what systems did they employ.
  • Discover what standard they hold for themselves.
  • Don’t just limit yourself to just one person or company, no one is perfect and we are all different, have a range of people you can model and draw information from.

Once you have analyzed them and gathered all the information you need, notice what you are doing that is the same and keep doing it. Work out what you need to change and create a plan and a commitment to change or adopt a new belief every 30 days or so, and start implement whatever you can immediately.

I love to hear your thoughts, ideas and feedback so make sure to talk back to me and leave a comment.
