A friend shared this video with me today; I thought it was so powerful that I just had to share it with you. Many of us are so scared to fail that we don’t even try; this is what is meant when people say that the fear of success holds us back.

No one wants to fail, we all want to be winners however you really need to change your mindset if you want to achieve anything worthwhile and look at failure in a different light.

If you are not failing you are not getting out of your comfort zone, if you are not getting out of your comfort zone you are not stretching yourself and ultimately you will not achieve your goals, unless your goals are to stay the exact same way you are now.

When I first started my career in direct sales, I was selling home security systems door to door, do you think I experienced failure? You bet I did.

To become the top sale consultant 2 years in a row before opening my own office I had to change my attitude towards failure. I changed my beliefs to not take failure personally and to think of it as nothing more than a learning experience.

I remember listening to a Tony Robbins CD a few years ago, I think it is on Get The Edge or maybe Personal Power, well one of those, and he said something along the lines of “The only thing standing in your way of getting what you want is the story you have to tell why you don’t have it” when I heard this it struck a nerve, seemed so simple and straight down the line.

For years people have talked about how important your attitude is and that your attitude will determine your altitude, another one of my favorite quotes.

For many of us, myself included it can be easy to get caught up in the day to day drama and problems or as I prefer challenges we face. It can be easy to lose sight of what really matters and how good we really have it.

I have travelled to many places around the world and it always brings me back to how good we really have it in the western world, or to be more specific to myself in Australia.

From my travels in Asia it always amazes me how wonderful people adapt and find a way to make things work even though it may seem unorthodox to someone from the western world.

However this is what success in life is all about, your ability to adapt and have a winning attitude no matter what challenges we are faced with. You can always find something to complain about or be grateful for it is your choice and this choice in attitude will determine your results in life.
