What You See, Depends On Where You Sit

Perceptions are everything and they will determine what you get out of life.

Here is something to think about…

There is a poodle in the wilderness, poodles are not used to the wilderness and are not that well equipped to survive against all the other vicious wild animals there. The poodle knows this is and as he is strolling around, soon realises that he is getting tracked by a leopard. Now the poodle needs to work out what to do about this leopard.

The poodle starts to move quickly and begins to kind of get away from the leopard, however shortly after the leopard finds the poodles tracks again and returns.

The poodle has to think quick and pull a big move if he doesn’t want to get eaten by the leopard so he runs up to a half eaten carcass of bones and sits in front of it with his back to the leopard…”mmm mmm mmm that was a tasty leopard, I need to find me another one of these” the poodle says.

Just before the leopard attacks he pulls up and stops and turns back – The leopard doesn’t know what the poodle is as he has never seen one before and says “Phewl….it almost got me…That was a close one”

All this time there was a monkey watching the whole charade and the monkey tracks down the leopard and says “Hey, I have some very valuable information for you but in exchange I want some protection out here in the jungle” The leopard says “ok…what’s this information?”

The monkey tells the leopard the whole story about the poodle tricking him. The leopard gets really mad and upset, throws the monkey on his back, licks his lips and says “We are going to settle this!”

Just when the poodle thought he was all in the clear he sees what the monkey has done. So the poodle goes up to another pile or bones and waits until the monkey and leopard get close enough “Where is the darn monkey! …I told him to get me a leopard an hour ago!”

So what’s the point? Was the leopard able to eat the poodle? Absolutely, But the leopard was too busy listening to the words of the poodle and allowing the words to shape what he thought was possible.

In our lives we too often listen to these lies and about what is possible. Change where you sit and you will see a different world of possibilities. Reality is just a perception…I hope this gives you something to think about.

You have unlimited potential!
