How To Prosper From Your Problems And Failures
What are you complaining about right? Yes, that is right, what are your problems right now? Ok…that is enough, I am sure you can think of plenty.
Now before you say way to go Sam I am here to find some inspiration and some positivity and you have me thinking about my problems …gee’ Well just stay with me for a moment.
I was watched a great video by Dr Joe Vitale about how an awakened millionaire thinks if you like you can check it out here. I found it very interesting and truly inspiring, especially at this time when many people have some many problems.
Most people look at problems as something bad and negative and hey, for good reason, problems are something that is not working, causing stress and worry and something we don’t want. Some people do some pretty destructive things to avoid or escape from their problems like over eat, take drugs, drink to much, etc. Which usually just create more problems.
Here is a new way to look at your problems and failure.
First off most entrepreneurs attack problems as opportunities in disguise and learn to prosper from them. For example, for every problem, there is a solution, so whatever problem you are experiencing right now I bet there are others in the world having the exact same problem. That means you can learn how to solve this problem and create a product around how to solve this problem and you then have a product you can sell and prosper from.
I love the way Joe Vitale puts it – A problem is a potential product.
We live in the ‘information age’ and there are millions of people everyday searching the internet for information and many of these people are looking for answers to question or put another way looking for a solution to their problems.
So rather than being paralysed by worry and stressed by your current problems look for ways you can prosper from them and help others solve the same issue.
So I want to ask you again what are your problems and how can you turn them into a product?
Here is something else I want to share with you that has helped me in tough times because tough times are always there it is how you handle them is what counts.
My first job out of school was selling home security systems door to door. As much as some people cringe at the thought of this sort of job I have to say I loved it even though I wasn’t that good at it at the start. I knew that if I wanted to succeed in sales I needed to study it so that is what I did, and I studied a lot.
I read dozens of books and listened to audio tapes for hours every day. One of my favourite sales teachers was Tom Hopkins and his classic program How To Master The Art Of Selling. In this program Tom explains a way of thinking all top super achievers think about failure and setbacks because you are going to have them. This is a part of life.
To quote Tom he says:
“I never see failure as failure, but only as the game I must play and win.” And my favorite
“I am not judged by the number of times I fail, but by the number of times I succeed: and the number of times I succeed is in direct proportion to the number of times I fail and keep trying.”
This advice and thinking has helped me countless times throughout my life, I hope it helps you too.
Sam
