How To Gain Self Mastery & Overcome Your Fears, Bad Habits & Emotions

How do you deal with stress?
Have you ever really thought about the answer to this question? How you deal with stress will determine how you experience life.
So what is stress? Stress is nothing more than our reaction to change. Any change in our lives, whether it is good or bad, will cause some level of stress.
Psychologists have listed hundreds of stress-causing events, each with their own ranking that measures the amount of turmoil the stressor can cause. Death of a loved one and the loss of a job rank right at the top for example, while a flat tire or spilling your drink would rank much lower. But regardless of the ranking, stress accumulates and can take a serious toll on our well-being.
- Stress can cause headaches, nausea, psychological problems and even heart-attacks.
- Stress lowers our white blood cell count, making us more susceptible to disease and illness.
- Stress can cause hyperventilation and respiratory problems.
- Stress can cause a variety of digestive issues, including constipation, indigestion and ulcers.
Of course, everyone responds to stress differently, but you can be sure that extreme stress lasting for extended periods of time will eventually wreak havoc on your body.
So, How Can You Avoid Stress?
Well the answer is you can’t because life is all about change and change causes stress, it is not about avoiding stress, it all comes down to how you deal with it is what makes all the difference. Hot is the opposite of Cold. Dark is the opposite of Light. And Stress is the opposite of the state of mind that we call “Meditation.”
Meditation is the key to dealing with stress and removing bad habits, fears and emotions. Mediating connects you to your inner consciousness.
Learning how to meditate and tapping into your inner consciousness will help you use your mind in more effective and powerful ways. The mind is the most powerful machine we have and it is where we perceive reality.
For thousands of years humans have argued and fought wars over different beliefs and points of view however one thing they all agree on is that what you think about you become. As Napoleon Hill said “Whatever the mind can conceive it can achieve” If you don’t learn how to use your mind and control how you handle stress you will be forever controlled by your mind.
Mediation is the only way to properly do this and you don’t need any special skills you simple just need to practice. Many people when they think about meditation often envision sitting in silence for hours on end, this is simply not the case. You can effective gain the hundreds of benefits from mediation just by sitting silently and observing your breath for 15 minutes a day.
There are many different techniques to meditating however if you are just starting off a great way is to simply observe your breath, don’t try and control it simply observe it and as your mind wonders off as it will simply bring it back to your breath. If you do this every day for 15 minutes over a course of a month you will notice changes in your attitude, stress and energy levels and you will notice your environment will seem to even slow down.
There are also many audio tracks that you can listen to that will help you go deeper and get faster results. I have used Centerpointe’s Holosync for about 18 months now and I love it. You can get a free CD from here.
