Bruce Lee – My Greatest Inspiration
“Be formless, shapeless like water. Put water in to a cup it becomes the cup, you water in to a bottle it become the bottle, you put it in a tea pot it becomes the tea pot, water can flow or it can crash…be water my friend” – Bruce Lee
What is inspiration?
in-spi-ra-tion – a. A divine influence directly and immediately exerted upon the mind or soul.
Who inspires you or what inspires you?
Today post is about the person who has inspired and directly influenced upon my mind and soul more than any other person. I am talking about Bruce Lee.
Bruce Lee is the inspiration for many people around the world and has changed the world in so many positive ways from martial arts to philosophy right through to the film industry. Bruce broke down racial and ethnic barriers and left an imprint on the planet like no one else before him.
Even now over more than 30 years after his death his name is Googled more than 3 million times a month.
To me Bruce Lee represents achievement, perfection, spirit, and action.
He inspired me to take up Kung Fu which took me to China in 2002 where I had the opportunity to train with the Shoalin Monks
(I am the one holding the banner on the left)
He inspired me in business to follow my dreams and work every business muscle, as he says “If you’re talking about combat — as it is — well then, baby you’d better train every part of your body!” — Bruce Lee
I remember when I first read the classic success/self help book Think And Grow Rich when I was about 17 I would write out my goals just the same way as Napoleon Hill taught, I used to look at myself in the mirror every morning for weeks reading out my statement, I often used to think to myself is this really going to work.
Then a few years later a friend showed me an article in a martial art magazine about Bruce Lee and in the article they showed some writings Bruce did in his journal, to my surprise it is the exact same wording Napoleon Hill suggests in Think And Grow Rich
I, Bruce Lee, will be the highest paid Oriental superstar in the United States. In return, I will give the most exciting performances and render the best quality in the capacity of an actor. Starting in 1970, I will achieve world fame and from then onward till the end of 1989 I will have in my possession $10,000,000. Then I will live the way I please and achieve inner harmony and happiness.
Bruce Lee continues to inspire me to keep improving and moving forward, flowing – like water
Here is one of Bruce’s last interviews he did, his wisdom is phenomenal, my intention is that Bruce Lee inspires you today.
